take some time to listen to this...

I know that Thanksgiving Break is about to begin for most of us, so I'd like to present this website to all you readers out there to check out this link and read along as you listen. You see, last week, Martin Luther King Jr. was honored with a dedication ceremony for a large monument that will stand next to the Lincoln Memorial in D.C. Martin Luther King Jr. was an incredibly well-educated leader who wasn't just extremely charismatic. I think that even though most people know of his "I have a dream" speech most haven't actually listened to it all the way through. Does injustice that he speaks of from his day, still exist in our day today? In our country... in our world? I believe the answer is, 'Yes'.

hey guys

Just wanted to let you know that things are going to really start to pick up over the next few days. Today, as with every Wednesday, I'll be going up to the University of Dayton with Dan Butz, Julie Lusser, Carrie Sarver to build a movement of believers there who are committed to the gospel and discipling others and studying God's Word. Tomorrow, CCC at Miami University will be putting on a large outreach event by inviting a world-class magician(illusionist) who works with CCC. His name is Andre Kole and he has been traveling the world for the past few decades and using his gifts as an illusionist to communicate the gospel message. To find out more about him visit the MU CCC website at: www.buzzmiami.com and follow the link to Andre Kole's site. After that event I'll be traveling to Indianapolis to attend CCC's regional staff conference from
Friday till Monday. Then, its off to Houston, TX to hang with the family. I'll be back on the following Monday, so until then, Shalom in the Home.

Support Team Completed!

Support Team Completed! Thanks everyone for all your support and prayers. Today was the day I reported to campus and officially starting meeting with students. Tagging alongside Scott Sommer (staff guy), I had the opportunity to meet with a student named Eric, who expressed his interest in getting more involved with Crusade's biblestudies and one-to-one discipleship. He also shared with us the fact that he hasn't really explored the depth of his potential relationship with God since he's been in college. We spent about an hour getting to know him more and also going throught the booklet called "Satisfied", which illustrates and explains the wonderful, Spirit-filled life that allows us as Christians to have abundant and fruitful lives that glorify God by understand His Word and Son, Jesus' life/death.

Upon hearing how he can live the Christian life in confidence and guilt-free, his eyes lit up and expressed how refreshing it was to now know this and look forward to learning more and deepening his relationship with God.

Tonight was the first of Campus Crusade for Christ's weekly meeting called 'Reverb'. Every week, students involved with CCC divide up into and meet as three different groups based on housing regions(north/east, south, west), with the exception of once a month where everyone meets together in one large gathering. I loved this idea of breaking down into three smaller Reverb's where more students can choose to get more involved and also get to know more people from their housing region. It was good to see that everything seemed to work well and students didn't seem confused or lost with the different Reverb locations, which could have easily made for disaster.

Anywhoo, thanks for takin' the time to read my blog. Feel free to leave a note. Latas. DK.

letter to potential supporters

https://give.ccci.org/give/0572535

hey yall,

thanks again for prayerfully considering joining with me in partnership to reach college students here in the U.S. with the gospel. as you may recall, i'll be working at miami university (ohio) for this coming year with campus crusade for christ, which is a non-profit student organization. The mission of Campus Crusade for Christ is to turn lost students into Christ-centered laborers. Matthew 28:18-20:
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age." (http://www.campuscrusadeforchrist.com/aboutus/missionVisionGoals.htm)

There are approximately 16,000 students in Oxford, OH, where Miami University is located, with this year's freshmen class being the largest in history at the university. Our vision is to see every student here at Miami University have heard the gospel message clearly explained and allowing them to make a conscious decision for themselves whether to accept or reject it. (http://www.buzzmiami.com)

To better reach the entire campus, we as a movement see the strategic value in reaching the freshmen class every year, thus reaching our vision to reach every student with the gospel. In addition to this, we as staff at Miami U's CCC also have target areas where we are designated to focus and spend most of our energy and resources on. Some target areas include, athletes (Athletes In Action), musicians, upperclassmen, fraternities and sororities (GreekLife), etc. My particular target group is with musicians and my personal vision for ministry this year is to see Christian students who are musicians to have their own vision for reaching out to the music community throughout the year.

I will be held accountable with my time and resources by my campus director and discipler.

Please pray that I will be able to report to campus soon and will continue to trust God throughout this time in finding those supporters whom God has specifically called to partner with me in ministry. If you or anyone you know is in the position to join with me in reaching college students either through prayers or finances please contact me. I am currently exactly in need of 4 more $100/monthly supporters.
